What is a helideck fire Trainer?
A Helideck Fire Trainer is a specialist fire training prop which replicates various fire and rescue scenarios of a helicopter that experiences a heavy landing on an offshore helideck. The SEFtec Helideck Fire Trainer includes a life-sized replica of a helicopter, complete with interior seating. Two versions of this prop are available, one with the helicopter upright, and one with the helicopter on its side - custom options also available. The helicopter prop sits on a full-sized, elevated helideck, complete with heliwells and fire monitors.
Who needs a helideck fire trainer?
Helideck Fire Trainers are used in OPITO training centres to train offshore crews to provide immediate emergency response in the event of a heavy landing at a heliport. They can be used to prepare for both firefighting and search and rescue operations.
The Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) mandates such training for their Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) and Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) courses. SEFtec has delivered helicopter fire props to safety training centres all over the world.
