Massachusetts Maritime Academy installs best-in-class HUET system

Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) has installed a Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) system to provide training for offshore workers. The state-of-the-art SEFtec system, including configurable HUET and personnel-rated HUET hoist, is now operational.

The SEFtec personnel-rated HUET hoist is the only HUET hoist approved by an independent Third-Party Inspection & Certification Organisation for lifting of people. This approval ensures the highest level of safety for delegates and instructors. Coupled with the SEFtec Configurable HUET, the resulting system offers a best-in-class training solution.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) awarded MMA a grant to build a helicopter underwater escape training unit (HUET) in their existing pool. The impressive facility is now ready to train offshore workers to survive emergency situations offshore.
